The Occupy Movement has now spread to over 1000 major cities (26 camps in the UK alone – don’t think it’s only happening in London), in 90 countries across the globe, and is entering only its 12th week. Pundits across the corporate media are asking: where next for the Occupy…
So I finished this years x-mas card.
I hope your holiday is as bright as 3/4 of these lights!
The Tent City University at Occupy London has launched a great new project: an online learning diploma!
An example question:
If wages do not increase at the same rate as prices then workers will need to borrow money to maintain the same standard of living. The ratio of average personal debt to income is a measure of how in debt a society is. In 1980 it stood at 45%. In 1997 it has risen to 91%. What was the level in 2007?
The upsetting answer: 157% i.e. average debt is now 50% higher than average income. Living at the same standard is requiring more and more borrowed money, as wage increases are (in real terms) non-existent.
